Are you ready to read with MM?

So here is to Journal entry #2…My Boo! My love for reading goes way back to the Pizza Hut “Book It” Program…IYKYK! I read a lot as a child. However, like most kids once you force us to do something the love for it started to fade. I continued to read here and there but nothing consistent. It started to pick up a bit when my first job out of college paid for all of our books. As long as we could categorize them as “Professional Development”. I didn’t mind that at all because I just read a lot of self help books!

In 2020 I started the year with the goal of reading 4 books by the end of the year. I started off strong by reading 2 books in January. However, I didn’t pick up a book again until May. The bright side is I met my goal that month of reading 4 books by the end of the year. From there I was pretty consistent with reading. However in October I hit a moment in my life where I was starting to get laser focus on my goals. A friend of mine (HEY MARY), recommended that I try out this author name “Love Belvin”. I was HOOKED after book one. With that being said my love in reading was restored in 2020. I ended up reading 20 books total that year which lead me to a new goal. Every year for the next ten years (until 2030) the number year it is; is the amount of books I want to read. So to be clear. Last year I read 20 books. This year goal was 21. Next year will be 22 and so on. That will be 245 books total! I am super pumped. If you keep up with me on social media then you know I read my 21 books for the year already! I try to read 2 books a month minimum right now with one being in the professional development/self growth realm. Below I will attach my 2020 reading list from last year.
